'87 5kCSQ square plastic shift boot holder needed

When I bought my present 87 5kcstq some 3 1/2 years or so ago I needed
one of these and found (per Linda at Carlsen) that it was only available
as part of the complete leather boot kit for some insane amount of $$$$.
What I found was that with some careful and strategic application of
silicon (RTV) sealent in the four corners that the boot stayed down
beautifully and one can not tell that it differs from a factory fit at
all...add to that it eliminates one potential squeek spot in the
interior. I have had occasion to remove and re-install it once (to put a
better condition boot on) and found that to be very easy as well. HTH
