CGT front subframe questions

I was crawling around underneath my car today, which I can do without aid of
a jack since it has over 6 inches of ground clearance! Anyway, I was looking
at the subframe bushings and I was wondering if there is a way to put solid
bushings in instead of the rubber? I am not really concerned with higher
noise/ vibration levels, I am noticing that the bushings are not in perfect
shape and if I am going to change them why not go solid?. Has anyone ever
done this (a thread I should check?) or does anyone know of a reason it
shouldn't be done? What about A-arms, are there urethane bushings available
for CGTs? guess that's about it, I am just looking for relatively easy ways
to enhance the feel and response of the suspension, since I have to do some
bushings anyway.
TIA
