Console comes out pretty easy depending on which car you have.

Year and model are usually very helpful.

If it's a 200 series with the rounded dash, pull the instruments forward,
reach behind and unplug all the connectors (5 I recall) then work the
cluster out around the wheel.

Can be done, patience required.

Since I don't have the book yet to work on my audi, my speedo was at first
sporadic and then quit working all together, I tried pulling the council out
that holds it but it seems the steering wheel is in the way.
  Guess I need some instruction here if any one would be so kind.
