Ben,
two things I can think of to watch, as the inner mount is a ball joint, I 
suspect trying to undo the nut will try and rotate the ball as well.  When 
I did mine I had the luxury of an air wrench, which worked fine.  The other 
thing is to make sure weight is on the suspension (fully) before tightening 
the outer bolt.  Otherwise the rubber mount will always be under tension 
and fail rather quickly, well, mine did :-(
Lastly, when I did mine, I found the link aftermarket for considerably 
less, somewhere in the $90-$110 range if I recall correctly.
