Sticking clutch pedal

Try this,
Push down on the pedal with your hand after you have popped it up into the
full upright position. Do you meet any resistance to pushing it down for
the first inch or so of travel? On my car, I replaced the clutch master and
slave, and still had that problem. Turns out I had/have two problems.
First, the throwout bearing in the clutch had worn out the teflon coated
sleeve it rides on, making clutch disengagement difficult. I fixed that
while doing the clutch.
Second problem was that the clutch pedal itself had worn out. There is a
clevis pin that goes through the clutch pedal to link the pedal to the
master cylinder. The clevis pin has actually worn the hole it goes through
into an oval. Wasn't but a 16th to an 8th of an inch of play at the pin,
but at the actual pedal, it shows as almost an inch of play.
To check to see if this is one of your problems, look at the clevis where
the master cylinder attaches to the pedal, and wiggle the pedal up and down.
If the pedal moves without moving the clevis, that is one of your
contributing factors.
