A/C compressors

Just a bit of info for all the A/C lovers

The York compressor used in most of the older cars is almost exactly the same 
as ones used in Freightliners, Kenworth, Peterbilt etc. . .   Some newer 
trucks do use the smaller rotary style compressor now, but if you took in 
your compressor as a sample I'm sure they'd have no trouble finding a 
suitable replacement.  Also in my experience (working at a diesel truck shop) 
most of the time these parts are cheaper than they would be from AUDI.  Could 
also try a truck salvage yard if you want to go the less expensive route.  
Where I work we have shelves full of that type of compressor the only 
difference will be the pulley and clutch assm which is easily removable/ 
replaceable.
