No, but a ceramic coating on the IM goes a long way in preventing this, and helping reduce temps. A steel heatshild can be made to fit down there too, but the factory never did it.

<< Hey guys
I got the Quantum syncro turbo project enough completed that I was able to start it up today. I have one last thing to ask.
After having it running for about a minute, I shut it off to check if the injector O-rings were leaking. Anyway I bumped into the intake manifold and was burned. Was there a heat shield in between the intake and exhaust manifolds?
Thanks guys
Mike
