intermitent inop. speedo 80 2wd auto

wifes 90 80, one minute it works fine, next its gone,
then it starts bounceing around, real neat. its
electric, how does it bounce ???? everything else
works fine, lights, tach, gas and temp guage. any
thoughts ????
