5kt window lift problem

I have an 85 5kt auto that is giving me electrical fits.
I have repaired the driver door jam wires twice, after which everything 
worked normally. The one exception, the second repair left the window switch 
lights on continuously, and would drain the battery after 4 days of 
inactivity. I was _meticulous_ to splice 1 wire at a time, so as to avoid any 
crossing. Since the car was driven everyday, I was going to look into this 
later. All the windows worked fine.
The other day my daughter lowered the passenger front window, and it will now 
_not_ go up. Upon investigation, the passenger rear will not work either. The 
driver side windows both work.
I have checked power to all switches, and there is power to _all_ switches. I 
swapped in 3 other switches and still no go. The window regulator in the 
passenger front looks pristine. All cable pulleys, and the plastic cut off 
switches are as new. I would lean toward a bad motor, but why would 2 motors 
go at exactly the same time?
Very perplexing!
TIA. All help greatly appreciated, as I need to get it out of the garage, and 
it precipitates almost everyday in Colorado in the spring.
