Possible gearbox problem

I have noticed in the last few days that the 4 speed DSP auto box of my 1993 100 V6 2.8 has a funny new problem:

When shifting from 3rd to 4th under normal driving (city traffic) conditions, it seems to slip, or shift over slowly. For a second or so the engine
revs pick up, indicating that it's not really in gear, and then it kicks into 4th.

Is this an expensive problem or just a service?

Previously I had a problem with a jerky 2nd - 3rd shift accompanied by a funny sound, this was fixed by an oil change as the mechanic felt it was
probably due to old or incorrect oil. That's still fixed so I assume the oil etc is still ok.
