[V6-12v] stalling

Additional info:  There may be some other problem at work here.  I was
driving this evening, and upon decelerating for a curve, the car downshifted
to third, (it's an auto) and then stayed in third until I shut it off and
started it back up.  I couldn't shift back into fourth.  On top of that, I
noticed that whenever I shift into park, the car instantly stalls.

I'm planning on cleaning the ISV tomorrow with carb cleaner, but are there
other potential problems I should be looking for.
