yes, or get lazy and bend the cover forward to get the pump out.

yes

also replace:
timing belt
crank seal
cam seal if you do pull the pulley and feel like it
timing belt idler pulley
accessory belts (Alt/PS/AC)

most likely culprits are the switches being dirty/bad.

yes.

two screws, "hinge" it forward (rotate about the top front corner) about
120 degrees and it just pulls out.  2 minutes.

check at switches for power and ground, also at window regulators
(actuate switch, test while pressed)

the schematic could help a lot... in the Bentley shop manual.
