CIS-Stuck plunger in metering head.

Hey guys,
Just got an engine management system for an MC motor. Have a minor problem
with the fuel distributor. The plunger that goes up into the metering head
seems to be stuck. The flow plate is very hard to move up. I am thinking
that it's probably been sitting around for a long time and the fuel has
turned into sticky goo. Anybody have any tips for getting it free?
