4000 2.2L 5 cyl. Lifter Ticking Problems...

It's supposed to contact the camshaft, that's what drives it. It's the
pump that supposedly gets oil on the wrong side of its diaphragm and
makes the racket. Though the sound makes me think maybe due to bad pump
the rod keeps "unmaking" contact with the camshaft and you hear it
hitting it over and over again instead of riding on it smoothly...
