Both the American and Euro "archived" ETKA's are floating around. The
Euro version was first to come out, then the American Version. Audi and
it's encarnations could care less about the program and who has it. The
only ones that have ever shown any interest (very little at that) is the
software company that actually produces the ETKA, it's Lex-something.

I personally think it should be PUBLIC information, period. Many others,
including dealers and distributors feel the same way. When in Brazil I
asked about getting a VW parts CD, the guy behind the counter tells me
the parts catalog has been online for years, for anyone who needs it.
It's made available and hosted by Volkwagen of Brasil, on their official
factory site. http://www.volkswagen.com.br/frmset.phtml?id=32 for
anyone wanting to try out their Portugues, go to bottom of page and start
pluggin in vehicle information. Chevrolet do Brasil had their complete
factory manuals online too, if it's some "freedom of information" law
they have down there, it's time we lobbied to get the same passed up
here.

On that note, anyone reading this far who doesn't yet have a copy, email
me privately.
