German magazine reports new CEO Pischetsrieder will head up new "classic" group and R&D head Martin Winterkorn will lead "sports" division at reorganized company
According to a story in the German magazine Der Spiegel, incoming Volkswagen CEO Bernd Pischetsrieder will personally head up the newly organized "classic" division at the company, which will include Bentley, Volkswagen, and Skoda. The magazine reports that Martin Winterkorn, head of development, will be the chief executive in charge of the "sports" division, which will include Audi, Lamborghini, and Seat brands. Der Spiegel further reported that the future Bugatti supercar will not be built at the Bugatti plant in Molsheim, France, but by Volkswagen in Wolfsburg, Germany. The company is expected to make an official announcement of the company reorganization after its scheduled November 23 board meeting.
