The 5000 Haynes manual "claims" to cover 84-88, diesel, NA, turbo,
fwd, quattro, automatic, and 5-speed 5000's. Stack one next to the
Bently set, and tell me if you believe that "claim" :-)
Steer clear of the Haynes. Phil has found a few places where the
Haynes does a good job of describing something, but for the most
part, steer clear. Most of the illustrations in the Haynes didn't
match my 5000 at -all-. I called the pics the "Guess That Area Of
Your Car Gameshow."

Borders Bookstore(I think; there's another bookstore chain nearby and
I always confuse the two) carries Bosch Fuel Injection by Probst(sp?)
It's an -excellent- book, and not that expensive, I think. The cover
has a picture of a MAF sensor. It does a lot of explaining about
what each little widget does etc. There's even a few things about
performance tuning.
I was going to suggest buying it through the Audifans site's link
to Amazon, but it looks like that link disappeared from the site,
I'll have to mention it to Dan(you could get the full Bently set from
amazon, so it was a great way for listers to save a few $ and give
some moolah to the list at the same time.)
