Help!! No instrument lights on 5KCSQ

OK, so my ignition switch slipped out of place, so I took the instrument
panel out to realign the switch and cinch it down and I pulled the mulit
headlights/turnsignal switch out...

Only when I put everything back together the instrument panel lights don't
work.  The center console lights come on with the headlights and all the
warning lights function, but none of the gauge lights work!

What did I do?

the gauge lights have been a little flaky, sometimes if the car was running
and I turned on the headlights, the gauge lights wouldn't come on, but turn
the car off, headlights on, they worked fine...

I pulled out a few of the small bulbs to check if they were working but I
put them all back, if that makes any difference.

How do I diagnose what is wrong?  If I need parts, what is the best place to
get them?

Makes driving a night a REAL adventure!
