It is ZF you have to thank for this, all gearboxes go back to them for
warrantee work.
We should remember that many different companies furnish parts for cars
and
the manufacturer just selects the most cost effective part that does the
job.
Audi has little or nothing to do with reliability testing for these
components.
Your ZF transmission is just as likely to fail in a BMW or Merc.
