The new A8 according to Auto, Motor und Sport

Hi all,
The latest edition of the German magazine Auto, Motor und Sport has pics of
the new A8. From now on, if Audi shows you a prototype you'd better take it
seriously because the front end of the new A8 will be almost a straight
copy of the Avantissimo show car, if AMS is to be believed (and they're
usually right).
If the end product will be like the pics in AMS, it's not going to be a
conservative design (but then again, neither is the new 7-series...). AMS
also claims that the Avantissimo will be a limited production reality in a
couple of years' time (remember my 'A8 Avant' prank two years ago?),
which'll make it a first in this class for Europe. I guess this will be an
interesting car for the US, won't it?
Thinking about it, the ASF, the TT, the Al2, the allroad, the Steppenwolf
(OK, the Steppenwolf is not exactly ready yet but it's been announced as
the new A3 allroad)... all became production cars, some barely changed from
their concept car appearance.
Regards, Tom
