rear pass-side bang type 44

I don't think that could be it. I just had them put new shocks and springs
on the car, and replace all the sub frame bushings. I would hope they would
have seen it then and said something to me (more money in there pockets).

Several of us have discovered that one of our rear shocks was broken at the
bottom, at the weld that holds the ring. (The ring fits over a bolt that
allows the shock to be fastened to the suspension). In both cases, it was
the driver side rear shock. We discovered this when we were replacing a
rear caliper. We weren't looking for such a problem, but discovered it
while taking things apart. The shock was in place, looked good from most
observation points, and wasn't hanging loose or anything obvious. And it
actually worked pretty well. Just noisy.

Could this account for your noise?
