I did this option and still had minor damage to my 1986 GTI (the move was
in 1995). They deflated the tires completely to fit another car over it
(unless you have a full 10+ bedroom house there will be other people's
stuff in the same truck), which ruined the tires ($480). There was a minor
scratch on one door ($300), and I seem to recall one other problem that was
at least $250 that I noticed later. The only problem that I noticed at
delivery was the scratch, so I ate the costs of the rest.

There just does not seem to be a safe, affordable,  way to move a car
coast-to-coast from the stories I have heard.
