rear arm question (not easy)

Hi lister.

I am assembling rear link from three used units picking better ball
joint, rubber caps.   One good end ( good ball joint) has broken
semi-rod-like stub at the end of thread.  Those stubs are used to lock
both ends in respect to each other.  Can I use this arm end? I just
thought that maybe these semi-rod-like thread ends are needed only for
off car lenght adjustment (week hope). I have no idea whether tightening
lock nut will be enough to prevent rotation one end in respect to
another one.

I will appreciate your thoughts.
