Arm rest for early sport seats

I want to pit a pair of leather sport seats in my '87 Avant. The seats must
be from an early Quattro, they don't have the fold down arm rest. Is the boss
for mounting the arm rest there or will I have to find another seat back? Are
the seat frames different, or is it just a difference in upholstery?
