Make sure your crackshaft is at TDC for cyl #1 (check your transmission
bellhousing window and the pointer should be pointer at the '0' mark).
Then, make sure your intermediate shaft is aligned at TDC (take off
distributor cap and the rotor should be pointed at the mark on the
distributor housing). Then, put the V-belt pulley on with the notch
aligned to the little dot on the intermediate shaft sprocket. Next, align
the cam sprocket such that the mark on that sprocket is aligned with the
top of the cam cover gasket surface. Now carefully get your timing belt
on without getting anything misaligned again, then adjust the tension.
Double check the alignments again.
