5-Cyl Vacuum Pump "Clack"

I thas been said that the failure mode is oil getting into the pump...
but I've never taken one apart to figure out what to do if i wanted one
to work.

btw, you don;t have to do anything other than remove the rod to "take it
out of the loop".

On my 90Q, I cut one down to the flange and made a steel plate to cover
it, epoxied it together and bolted it to the head though.  Got rid of
that ugly thing!  replaced vac line with a single piece of hose.
