Winter tire retailers

<<Nokian tires can be found at several places- etires.com, Chris Semple
apparently sells them, Greg Galinsky (sp?) sells them, several others.>>

About 4 months ago Greg (my regular pusher) called me to say he was
getting out of the tire business. Greer Enterprises in Milwaukee is also
a good source.

<<Has anyone tried Goodyear? I've seen some small retailers selling
Goodyear
snows (apparently a European design), some are H and V rated. I'm forced
to
go with 205/50R17 unless my brakes will clear 16s in which case I'm all
set.>>

I has the previous generation H-rated Eagle GW's... best performance
snow tire I'd used until I tried the NRW-H's.  (Similar on dry pavement;
the NRWs were clearly better in the snow)

But once I tried the Q's... no going back. Sure, the NRWs are superior
in the dry... but the wet, snow, and ice performance of the Q's _more_
than made up for their slightly deficient dry pavement performance...
which really wasn't as bad as I had expected. _Nothing_ as bad as
Blizzacks...
