Hello,
I am an air-cooled vw guy, and have heard good things about Quattros.
Mechanical repairs do not intimidate me, so no probs there.........

Basically looking for an upscale version with air and all the  bells and
whistles.  Plan on moving to the mountains and the 4WD will help.  What is
the range of prices i can expect to pay, and what is the model i should
consider/year of manufacture?  Not looking to spend a bunch here.........
