high idle....5ktq ... a little help please

Sounds to me like the throttle is hanging open.  I base this on the fact you
can get the idle to drop by playing with the accelerator pedal.  If you have
a vacuum leak around the throttle plates, like a leaking ISV, and the
throttle closes enough to close the idle validation switch, assuming it is
working, the engine idle speed will oscillate somewhere between about 1500
and 2000.  This is because when the idle validation switch is closed the
fuel is shut off when RPM is above 2000.  General vacuum leaks to the
atmosphere should not create high idle since the mixture will lean
significantly.  Leaks around the throttle plates will create high idle.
When I had the idle oscillation problem, posted a few months ago, it was a
leaking ISV.

Problem is car is running high idle after warming up, push the clutch in
while slowing down from 40-50 mph and the rpms stay at 2500-3000.  Tap the
throttle and they slowly drop down to a slightly more nomal 1200 or so.  If
i keep playing with it I can get it to drop to 900 or so.
