Paradise by the dashboard lights

 Hi all. More dashlite wierdness. For a while, mine don't come on when I'm
driving along, and turn on the headlights. The catch is, if I turn the
lights on *before* starting the car, the come on.......go by John Larson's
shop to drop off a defective Hi pressure  hose for return{the 2nd one!},
and ask him in passing for ideas. His was that he was" glad it was my car,
not his".  After seeing the current thread, checked the license plate
lights. Nothing. Tried a couple o' bulbs. Nada. Check the trunk hinge
wiring. One wire that'd been previously patched had parted. Fixed the trunk
wire. John let me use his *good* crimpers. Covered with shrink tubing.
License lights. Check. Dash lights, perfect. Check your license lights!!
The saying on the Ducati list is "it's the connectors". It may well be.
