Yes. When I rebuilt the headlight loom for my 88 Ur-q I used cables in the
standard factory colours - the only problem that I had was that I couldn't
source 5 m of 2mm cable in yellow with a black tracer. As the minimum
quantity for a special production run was 100m I used yellow/red instead.

I once debugged a Nova kit car (anybody else remember them?) where it
appeared that every other wire was yellow. One rather vital cable was red at
the ignition switch and in the engine compartment but was a different colour
in between - yes, YELLOW.
I still marvel at the builder's skill in being able to place one of the
colour-changing joints _exactly_ where the bundle of wires passed through a
bulkhead grommet.
