Treser-Upside down CIS

Looking through the junkyard I see lots of the Mercedes V8 CIS systems.
According to Dialynx, the (as I call it) 'V8 Mercedes stuff on Audi I5' was
developed by Tresser. Those flow meters are downdraft, the cone is upside
down. There is a small amount of cone (1 or 2 inches) that sticks up above
the flow sensor where the air cleaner box sits. If the cone was the verticle
cone, with a downdraft flow sensor, it would be impossible to make the car
run. Tresser wouldn't be able to sell the cars if they didn't run.... Also
the only flow meters with verticle cones are the 4 and 6 cylinder ones. All
the V8s are downdraft, and have a larger plate. If the cone was verticle it
would have been from a 6 cylinder(which is where the 5 cylinder one comes
from), the plate would have to be the same size as the stock Audis, making
the mod completely useless. The only reason to use the V8 stuff is it has a
larger cone and plate so it can flow more.
Just my $0.02
Easiest way to get around worrying about any of this.....EFI
