A6 Ignition switch problems

Very interesting link to the PDF, Antenor.
I have a '98 A6 Avant with a sticking ignition switch that burned out the
starter motor just before I bought the car.
The starter has been replaced but the switch needs to be fixed as well. I
asked an Audi mechanic about this problem and he told me there continues to
be a problem to this day and he showed me a pile of replaced units.
I called the phone # in the PDF and was told the recall does not cover my
car even though there continues to be a problem.
So I think we need to find out how wide spread this problem is and see if we
can extend this recall to later cars and the faulty replacement unit fitted
to earlier cars.
Original part # involved was 4A0 905 851L and F, replacement part # is 4A0
905 851J and this was fitted to new build from '96 on as well.
