I realized afterwards that I see few car ads these days on the list, though
I'm sure seeing lots of parts from the same folks. I forwarded the other
outlets to the owner and, as Mike V said It was a service to the owner, and
any lister looking.

>Go to any local dealer and chances are you'll find every interior and
>exterior color, model year, and option package your heart could desire.
>Even 2000 and 2001 S4s and TTs/TT roadsters are in plentiful supply on
>the used car market.

I believe this list was begun as a grassroots effort to swap information and
services so we didn't HAVE to go to dealers! I for one have never bought a
car at a dealer and have no plans to do so in the future, I suspect I am not
alone. Of course if you think a dealer would give you as good a deal on
this car as an unemployed tech worker, moving out of the country and selling
many worldly possesions, then the ad was not for you. (for those interested,
use the phone # as the email seems bad)

>People usually don't buy cars long distance unless they're rare,
>and chances are there are very few listers near you.

You're probably right. Boston (within a 2 hr drive of 80% of New England
residents)is not the hotbed of Q activity that it used to be, Even Phil has
stopped coming and who knows if Mt Washington is even on next year.

>And, I should mention, this is my personal opinion as a list member of
>over 5+ years, and doesn't necessarily reflect Dan's or list policy.

No problem, I can see how opinions can differ. Dan is usually pretty good
at making his feelings/policy for the list known.
Mike
5+ year lister (or is it 6), much longer Q owner
