Hi!

Well, tomorrow at noon I will hopefully be trying out a UrS4. Seeing as
my Audi 200 and Merc 300D are still being nightmares I decided today to
take a look in the papers for another car.

I just need to know what I need to look out for tomorrow when I test the
car.

It is a 1992 Audi S4 quattro with 138,000km (about 83000 miles) on it.
I've been told it doesn't consume oil and recently had the rear brakes
seen to by Audi. It is the 2nd owner who is selling and he has it just
over a year and is selling in order to purchase a VW Eurovan (Microbus)
due to a growing family.

This must be one of the first units that came to South Africa, just
guessing by the year of manufacture/sale.

The asking price is R75,000, which is about US$8000. I have been seeing
some S4/S6 going for US$13000 up in Johannesburg. This is all plenty of
dough for me, what with having the 200 and the Merc underway. So, I
would like to know what I should pay particular attention to tomorrow
before I make a mistake and opt for $215 per month payments for the next
few years.

My girlfriend said I should get a recent MkI Golf (around $2700 for a
1995 with under 100,000km on it) because she will buy it off me next
year... but then when I showed her S4 quattro pics she said she can see
herself being chauffered around in that. :)

About a year ago there was a blue S4 quattro selling here for R80,000
and I called the place and said I'd be round to take a look at the car.
A colleague and my girlfriend then drove off to the place and as I was
driving up to the last set of robots I noticed a blue S4 driving away
from me. Five minutes later I found out it was just sold. This is the
very same S4 I will be looking at tomorrow. :)

Thanks.

G.
