Idle hunting - '87 5kcdtq

Thanks to all who replied regarding my problem of the 'hunting' while in
second gear and idling down. The solution to it was different than the
ISV solution. While removing the transmission for replacement of the
timing pin I had broken off one of the vacuum leads that goes from a
small plastic part and leads through the firewall to the differential
locks. I think this break in the vacuum caused the surging in second and
the inability to lock the diffs. 

Replaced this part, and now it doesn't surge, and the rear diff will
lock. The front won't, but the next problem I attack is the hydraulic
warning light.
