does this sound like a good deal? - Re: do 5kS 4-bolt wheels fit a Quantum Syncro?

The Syncro is an amalgamation of VW and Audi parts. The engine is stock
Audi 2.22 I-5, the radiator is unique (very SIMILAR to the 4KQ, but has
an extra tank fitting). Generally, bulletproof car with MANY more
availible wheels (4 x 100 BC, ET 38, any VW WC 4 bolt 14" and larger,
prior to Golf 4 should be fine), though the ET 38's would provide
slightly more track than ET 45. It will NOT fit 13's. Proper size is
195/60-14. Easiest cheap rim fitment it to find the 14's from A2 Golf's
and Jettas that were standard equipment from 1991 on up. As for wear
items, rear shocks (around $120 a set, tended to go after 3 yrs of
average to more than average milage driving, dealer or OEM supplier only,
these are NOT UrQ nor 4KQ parts), rear calpers (yours are new, just be
conciencious in changing brake fluid and using the P-brake to keep the
seals clean), and rust along the window of the hatch. Otherwise, pretty
much standard 4KQ fare. Exhausts could be expensive, but any good exhaust
shop could bend one up for you. Really a nice car, if you can get a good
running example. I've driven peppy ones (most of the ones I've run
across) to dogs, but they all handle and ride real nice, and they brake
like a 4KQ, which is to say, pretty good.
As for price, I dunno, I sold my '84 4KQ with 188K miles 7 years ago for
that price, and it was quite clean, with snows on rims. Syncros are rare,
but you figure the rest out.
