Right. Brake light circuit must be working. Drive the car and reproduce the problem condition. Run for at least ten minutes, go above 80 Celcius, 3000 rpm and 1.2 bar. Accerleate hard at least once in third gear.
The ECU's memory is volatile and the results are lost if the ignition is switched off - they're also erased when they're read.
Park with the engine running and repeat the trick to get the 7000 rpm indication.
Tap the brake pedal to step the ECU through its codes.
Look at the rev counter and check engine light:
1000 rpm OFF RPM sensor
1000 rpm ON Knock control
2000 rpm OFF Ignition timing sensor
2000 rpm ON Knock sensor
3000 rpm OFF Hall sensor
3000 rpm ON Intake air temperature sensor
4000 rpm or 6000 rpm OFF ECU vacuum hose or idle switch
4000 rpm ON Coolant temperature sensor
5000 rpm OFF ECU pressure sensor
7000 rpm OFF No more codes
