Subarus and Audis

Here in rural Maine, Subarus are extremely common. We have an aggressive
Sube dealer located in this town, and their price is right in the middle of
the market that a lot of folks can pay for a new car here.

I know a fellow who works for an independent Subaru garage and my own Audi
mechanic says that they are really a pretty good value.

When we were looking for a car for my wife, we went to the Subaru lot and
looked over the inventory. Quite a lot of car, comparatively, for around 25
grand, considering what else you can buy for that. They resell pretty well,
and have a remarkably high safety rating, too.

In the end, I made the same decision that I have made for some time. Since
only my truck can legally be expensed tax wise, I decided that twenty five
grand was simply too much for any vehicle. So, I bought a pristine 100CS
Avant for half that.

Oh, yeah. I did have to fly to Kansas City and drive it back, but for the
thousand bucks that it cost for delivery, I had a neat experience, bought a
really nicely kept '94 Audi with all the bells and whistles (except the
computer), and saved around thirteen thousand dollars. (Lower insurance
rates, too.).

(And as far as ultimate performance is concerned, here in Maine, EVERY law
enforcement vehicle uses "instand on" radar, and we have a 55 mile per hour
limit except on the interstate, where your license is a gone pigeon above 69
miles per hour. So turboWHAT?)
