Antenna/Radio wiring

Can anyone explain the wiring of the antenna to radio for me please. I
have read the wiring diagrams and manuals and am still confused. The
switched wire on my antenna and radio doesn't have power. I have wired
up a 'kludge' (that's the word for a fix done by someone who doesn't
know how or have the time to do it properly). I have a pair of wires
coming out of the dash - one connected to the constant power, the other
connected to the switched power. Connect the ends and the radio comes
on. UGLY but I have music.

Is there a fuse or relay somewhere on the antenna circuit or the
switched power for the radio?
