Baffle at the End of the Mass AirFlow Sensor, on the inside of the Airbox?

Looks like a big funnel?  It's there to smooth out airflow, I 
presume.  Since the MAF technically only measures a small area for 
airflow, it's very important airflow be very even.

I wouldn't mess with it, I'm sure it is there for a good reason. 
I've heard a lot of people say that audi knew what they were doing 
with our airboxes.
