Confusion about network settings(for the technical, John Dunkle's 
network runs a partial subnet) caused some pretty funky stuff.  Dan 
wasn't able to reach the system from his home connection, but could 
from where he worked, and I could reach it from my parents house but 
not from dialup, etc.)  A lot of people couldn't get or send email to 
the list during that time period.
