Hello Ian............I have a copy of the Haynes manual for the 1986 model
5000, which describes how to adjust A/C belt tension. Perhaps your 1986
coupe quattro has a similar setup. I really don't know, but if the diagram
is helpful, that doesn't matter.

Hope you don't trash this message because it has an attachment. That's what
I do, because I am so concerned about viruses. I trash everything without
reading them, unless I specifically have requested something and expect it.

In a manner of speaking, you did request help with this A/C belt thing, and
sending you this attachment is my way of trying to help. So, if you read
this, be assured that the attachment is not a worm or virus.
