History question, type 44

One of the cars famously delivered to the Stern offices when the Type 44 was
launched was a diesel.

I've seen three.  I think that is more than I would expect to see if they
were one-offs built by their owners.  One was RHD.

Happy with that bit.  All the ones I saw were Avants.
