1986 Audi problem need help

Check the michelin man hose (throttle body from intercooler) for leaks 
by taking it off and compressing it between your palms.  If it leaks under 
boost, the fuel meter won't put the right amount of fuel into the motor, 
based on the air actually going into the motor.

You may be leaking boost out the hose.
