(Fwd) trick to removing 5kcstq downpipe from turbo?

Thanks Javad!

Tomorrow night, I'm dropping the downpipe! Maybe I'll have the
tranny dropped too. The starter wasn't bad at all. I knew there had
to be a certain plan of attack! :-)

I think I may get either a 2-piece manifold or a dialynx to replace
the cracked one on the car. I know the dialynx may be risky due
to some peoples experience with warpage, it may also be cheaper.

I'm pricing the 2-piece from Clair, and I'll try Carlsen tomorrow.

I miss driving the car! I talked to Rob O., a local past q-lister
tonite. He's considering an '87 5kcstq in pearl on Fuchs. It would
be nice to have another local enthusiast to share the joy and pain
with.

Whenever I get into these mechanical projects, I think of that song
they used for the Geo commercials, "Getting to know you". (the
cars intricacies)

Thanks,

Ken
