Coupe Quattro no Worky!

Ok so I just had a maddening Audi experience - the CQ refuses to start!

It cranks and cranks and cranks but to no avail.  Eventually the Auto-check 
computer freaks out about oil pressure (or whatever the dripping oil can 
icon means).

The car has pretty much run strongly up until now.  It has had a problem 
(unresolved) where the car kicks and dies when I'm on the throttle but only 
occasionally.  Like once a month or less.  Then the oil pressure  Auto-check 
comes on, even when oil pressure shows fine on the gauge.

It's cold and dark right now and the car's outside so I haven't started 
looking at it yet.  Any suggestions on where to start?  No pun intended.  
Plug wires, cap and rotor are all new, plugs are medium old.
There are a couple new injectors as well but I wasn't having problems from 
the others.
