[Rave Racer]

    The Jetta commercial where the guy tackles the shopping cart.
"Volkswagen owners love their cars".  The funny thing was that I was driving
my Jetta around that time.  I was waiting for a freind who was picking up
something in the store and the wind blew a lone shopping cart so that it was
now heading down the shallow hill straight toward me.  I looked at my freind
who was also waiting with me in the car and we both had good giggle.  So I
backed it up just a few feet so the cart would miss me.  It passed through
my headlights and kept on going and as we watched in horror, it continued
another 10 feet straight into a brand new Jetta.  Normally we would have
been horrified, being VW fans, but this time we couldn't resist laughing.


I swear, the best thing that people *remember* is humor.  It may not sell
anything (but how would you know?), but if mindshare is your goal, humor
ought
to be the vehicle.  Who among us (except the too young) doesn't remember the
old Beetle ads?  "ugly is only skin deep"... "lemon"... etc.
