loose spring

Hey all,

Quick Q:  I've noticed a clanging/metal on metal sound lately, and have
found that it it coming from the passenger front.  I checked the spring
today, and when I grabbed it and moved it around, it was loose and obviously
the culprit.  Is this a common problem for an 8 year old suspension?  I'm
hoping there's a cheap fix that'll last a few months until I can pay for a
full suspension.
