Clutch pedal issues, 4kq

When you pull the clutch pedal up to the top, do you have resistance for
the first half of the travel, or does it just push without resistance to
the halfway point, then disengage the clutch?
If you get resistance along the full travel after pulling the clutch
pedal up, then I agree with the other suggestions about clutch
hydraulics.
If it has little or no resistance on the first half, then I would
suggest a worn out clutch pedal. Seems to be semi-common on these cars.
The clevis assembly gets worn out, and allows a bit of travel in the
pedal. If so, buy a new pedal assembly, and be done with it.
Good luck!

>Just picked up an exceptional looking and running 4000Q this weekend,
but there is one thing strange about the clutch pedal. It sits halfway
to the floor. I can pull it up with my toe and it stays, but the next
time I press it in it stays midway again. Clutch operation is just fine
though, shifting is no problem....
Return spring is in place but because its enclosed I cant tell if its
really ok or not.
Any ideas?
TIA.
